How it is calculated

Prices vary by facility, services, and care needs. There is no single typical price that fits everyone, so this calculator uses only the amounts you enter.

This comparison is about cost, not which type of care is suitable. Check what each quote includes before comparing.

For a facility and a live-in caregiver, monthly costs not included in the quote are added to the quote.

For hourly care, the hourly rate is multiplied by care hours per week and by 52/12 to get an average monthly cost, then any other monthly costs you entered are added. First-year cost is 12 monthly totals plus one-time costs.

Aid is an amount you enter and is deducted only from recurring costs, up to their amount. The calculator does not check eligibility.
