Indicative one-off reimbursement

€900.00

How it is calculated

The EOPYY health-benefit regulation provides a lump-sum payment in place of maternity care for births outside a public maternity hospital. The administrative process checked here concerns home births and requires an application with supporting documents.

This is not the OPEKA birth allowance. A home-birth claim may require the birth certificate, a declaration that no immediate hospitalisation followed, a midwife’s certificate and a service receipt.

The one-off amount is €900 for a singleton, €1,200 for twins and €1,600 for triplets. A stillbirth after the 22nd week is treated as a birth.
