Age, weight and a few factors are enough for a first answer. Anything that cannot be judged safely goes to the donation doctor.
The rules are ΕΚΕΑ's: aged 18–65, over 50 kg, no permanent exclusions, and a 6-month deferral after a tattoo or piercing.
The permanent exclusions on the ΕΚΕΑ list — heart disease, cancer, hepatitis or jaundice, epilepsy, a bleeding disorder, high-risk behaviour — send the case to the doctor rather than rejecting it here.
Age outside 18–65, weight of 50 kg or less, pregnancy, an active infection and recent surgery also go to the centre: their deferral periods are not published with a date.
Only the tattoo or piercing deferral has a fixed 6-month period, which is why it is the one case where the tool gives a date.
A 30-year-old man, 75 kg, no tattoo and no active infection: "probably yes". The same profile with a tattoo on 10 September 2026: deferred, first eligible day 10 March 2027.
Six months after the tattoo or piercing. The tool gives the date; the donation centre confirms it.
It depends on the medicine. The centre's questionnaire and its doctor decide; this tool makes no medical judgement.
The usual intervals are 90 days for men and 120 for women, as ΕΚΕΑ states. The centre keeps your record.
