How compensation is estimated
EU passenger rules set minimum compensation at 25% or 50% of the ticket price when a qualifying service arrives late. The threshold depends on the scheduled journey length.
The calculator compares arrival delay with the thresholds for the scheduled crossing. It does not calculate remedies for departure delay or determine whether an exception applies.
For cancellation or departure delay over 90 minutes, passengers may choose reimbursement or rerouting. A carrier must pay qualifying compensation within one month of the claim.

Frequently asked questions
Is cancellation compensation calculated as a percentage?
The tool shows the separate refund or rerouting options; it does not estimate a percentage for a cancelled sailing.
Can severe weather remove compensation rights?
