For culls due to sheep pox or another epizootic there is income-loss compensation per animal, plus the value of the animal separately. See the total.
Half of the income-loss compensation covers culls from 4 Dec 2025 to 30 Jun 2026.
Income-loss compensation is €70 per adult sheep or goat, €35 per lamb or kid, €200 per cow and €120 per pig.
The value of the culled animals is paid separately by the region, up to €250 per animal, on valuation.
The second half of 2026 has not been announced; the tool shows the amount pending instead of treating it as paid.
Culling 120 adult sheep and 40 lambs on 15 Mar 2026: income loss €8,400 + €1,400 = €9,800. Half is paid, €4,900, and €4,900 is pending. The animal value can reach up to €40,000 from the region.
Income-loss compensation is paid centrally, while the animal value comes from the region.
