CPI (consumer price index)
In short
The ELSTAT index that shows how much the things households buy have become dearer or cheaper.
The CPI measures how the prices of the goods and services households buy in Greece change. It is compiled by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
Many leases tie the yearly rent increase to the CPI. For example, if your contract says "increase equal to the change in the CPI", the new rent follows the change in the index that ELSTAT publishes, not a percentage the landlord picks.
The CPI is not the same as the HICP. The harmonised index is used to compare EU countries, so the two percentages can differ.
