See the e-EFKA funeral-expense amount for the deceased's fund and what is left for you to pay.
The allowance covers part of the cost, not the whole funeral. The amount depends on the former fund and the deceased's status.
It is usually due to the person who arranged and paid for the funeral. The invoice must be under their tax number. The tool does not check whether the claim is in time.
The funeral costs you enter are added. The allowance for the category is subtracted up to the cost.
Net cost is the total minus the amount applied. If the allowance is larger than the cost, net cost is zero.
The claim period runs from the death and differs by fund: from 1 to 5 years.
Example: an IKA-ETAM insured person or pensioner, with a funeral-home invoice of €2,500, cemetery costs of €800 and €300 of other expenses.
Total cost: €3,600. The recorded amount for that category is €883.92, and the claim period is five years.
The allowance is applied in full because it is below the cost, so €2,716.08 remains with the family.
For an OAEE pensioner the recorded amount is €762 and the claim period is one year, which makes the deadline the more pressing difference.
Usually the person who arranged and paid for the funeral, with an invoice under their tax number. It does not go automatically to the spouse or children.
No. It is a fixed amount by fund and category. The rest stays with the family.
