Statutory fee reference before VAT

How the reference is calculated
Lawyer and client are free to agree the fee in writing. The Code provides calculation rules for certain acts when there is no written agreement.
This tool covers monetary main claims, first-hearing written submissions and an hourly reference. It is not a quote for a full case.
For drafting a main monetary claim, Article 63 selects a percentage from the statutory value bands and applies it to the claim value. For the claimant's first-hearing submissions, Article 68 uses half that amount; for the defendant, the full amount.
The Code's Annex I hourly reference is €80. The tool adds 24% VAT to show a gross reference. It excludes court expenses, filing fees, contributions, appeals, extra hearings and other work.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a mandatory price list?
No. Fees are freely agreed in writing. The statutory references matter in the situations specified by the Code, including when there is no written agreement.
Does the claim calculation include every stage of a case?
No. It covers the selected act only. Case strategy, court appearances and additional work can add fees.
Can I calculate a lease, contract or consultation fee?
Not with this limited calculator. Those matters require the applicable Code provision and a manual review.
