Work and pay
Check the three legal tests first: the nine-month cap, the eight-day notice and the written agreement.
Rotating work means fewer days, weeks or months at a full daily schedule. The Labour Inspectorate guidance says an employer may impose it for no more than nine months in the same calendar year, after informing and consulting representatives.
The agreement must be in writing and notified to the competent Labour Inspectorate within eight days. If either requirement is missed, the is presumed to be in full-time employment. The page does not set out leave rules or a pay formula for rotating work, so the pay share in this tool is only a reference figure.
Only within the conditions the guidance describes: a reduction in activity, prior consultation and the nine-month limit. Check the facts with the inspectorate.
The guidance says hours beyond the full daily schedule follow the limits and pay in article 194(3). Check the amounts with the inspectorate or an accountant.
