How it is calculated
The leave covers widowed employee parents and unmarried parents with exclusive custody of a child. Single-parent status alone does not qualify every case.
The leave is additional to other leave. Check with the employer which documents establish your category.
The entitlement is 6 paid working days per year, increasing to 8 days when the employee has three or more children.
