Free official checks first, paid reports only where they add something.
Before paying for a VIN report, the state shows free whether the car is insured, immobilised or reported stolen, and the seller can show and fines. The order of the checks is what matters.
Start with the plate on the gov.gr service, without signing in. Then ask for the card and compare mileages, ask for tax and fines in myCAR and check the Auxiliary Fund with the plate and the owner's tax number.
The VIN gives maker and year, not accident history. Paid reports add imports, accidents and liens where they exist, and are worth it mainly for imported or expensive cars.
Only the owner sees it in myCAR; ask the seller to show it in front of you.
