Notary
In short
A public legal officer who writes and certifies contracts, such as a house sale.
In Greece, many contracts must be signed in front of a notary. This often applies to property sales, gifts and inheritances.
The notary’s fee is set by law and depends on the value of the contract.
Before you sign, ask them to explain the text and the costs, so there are no surprises.
